THE BACKLOT provides a dedicated space tailored to meet the needs of the many facets of an Art Department, Props Department, Vehicles, or Special FX, offering a secure area to work and store your equipment, including access to resources such as CNC milling, sign writing, prop making, vinyl cutting, test and tag services, and construction facilities.  

4,500 square metres of fully fenced yard.

2x 210 square metre Container Arches.

40 ft shipping containers for storage.

Access to forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, water, electricity, and tradespeople.

The BACKLOT is a 10-minute drive from Docklands Studios and set amongst the production offices of Port Melbourne and South Melbourne.

The open area is serviced by the established ILLUSIONS and has access to the facilities of that company.

When you need secure, local access to Vehicle Departments, Props Making, Dressing storage but have run out of space at the production office, it’s a no-brainer to keep everything together at THE BACKLOT.
